From Mentor to Most Admired: Dr. Jogadia’s Journey of Building Bridges Across Continents
Dr . Darah Sharma : “From Rural Roots to Global Recognition”
In a world where healthcare is often driven by numbers and technology, Dr. Darah Sharma stands out as a beacon
of compassion, blending modern medicine with traditional wisdom to offer truly holistic healing. A celebrated
internal medicine specialist and integrative health expert, Dr. Sharma has been quietly transforming lives across
continents—and it all began in a remote Himalayan village.
The Humble Beginnings
Born in a small village near Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, Dr.Darah Sharma’s fascination with healing began not in a
lab, but in her grandmother’s herbal garden. “I still remember helping her collect wild herbs after school,” she
recalls. “That’s where I first learned that healing is more than prescriptions—it’s about presence, understanding,
and trust.”
Though resources were scarce, Darah’s parents prioritized education. With determination and scholarships, she
made her way to AIIMS Delhi, where she earned her MBBS, followed by a residency at Johns Hopkins University in
the U.S. Her passion for patient- cantered care led her to further specialize in integrative medicine, blending
allopathy with nutrition, Ayurveda, and stress management practices.
Healing with Heart and Science
After years abroad, Dr. Sharma returned to India to launch Swasthya Veda Wellness Clinics, a ground breaking
initiative that integrates modern diagnostics with traditional healing arts. “My goal,” she says, “was to bring world class healthcare to underserved areas—without losing the soul of Indian healing traditions.”
She also initiated a mobile telehealth unit called “Heal Connect”, now operational in 3 states, offering remote
consultations and follow-ups for chronic illness patients in rural belts. Her model has been adopted by health
NGOs in Nepal and Bangladesh as well.
